On Thursday 11 November 2021, the Bruggenstichting (Bridge Foundation) will organize the 7th Bicycle + Foot Bridges Symposium, from 12:00 to 6:00 pm in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. This afternoon will be all about sharing knowledge. The program includes presentations about circular material use, proven construction methods, the synergy between architect and engineer and the world's first 3D-printed steel bridge. ZJA will also participate!
Presentation ZJA
What is recepy for a good bicycle and pedestrian bridge? That is the title of the presentation by Jochem Verbeek and Joris Veerman of ZJA. Jochem and Joris will take the public along a number of special projects in the Netherlands and Belgium and will present some ingredients to make a good bicycle bridge.
Sharing knowledge
In 2014, the Bruggenstichting established the Platform Fiets+Voetbruggen, with the aim of increasing the technical and architectural quality of this type of bridges. Among other things, by sharing knowledge about the integral design process, in collaboration with all parties involved. The full symposium program and more information about registration can be found on the website of the Bruggenstichting.
