Bridge in Eindhoven

0349

A carefully designed bridge for a seemingly common business park seems quite exceptional. But then, Meerhoven near Eindhoven is a special neighbourhood.

The set-up of this business park is different from conventional commercial areas. Builings no longer have clear front and back sides thanks to the access via loop-shaped streets. Free flow of traffic, visibility and a lot of green lie at the core of MVRDVs urban plan.

The bridge designed by the architects ZJA is situated right next to the so-called Spottershill, from where one can observe flight movements on the airport of Eindhoven. The precisely detailed, expressive bridge is made of stainless steel.

ZJA designed a tunnel in the same area.
