The annual Dutch Betondag (Concrete Day) is one-day event where Dutch builders and constructors exchange and share the latest innovations for building in concrete.
As part of the I-lent consortium for the extended Waalbridge ZJA - architect Jochem Verbeek will provide a keynote on the design of this striking new bridge on November 20th .
In designing the extended Waalbridge ZJA uses a parametric design technique.
An in-house developed computer program of form finding in which the basic parameters for the design are pre-determined and the software seeks the ideal shape. This technique allows designers to shape complex, double curved surfaces in a natural and controlled manner.
