Defending coast and livability with an iconic beacon

Venue building SILT, Middelkerke

As part of the reinforcement of the sea defences, the decision was made to raise and strengthen the Zeedijk at Middelkerke on the Flemish coast between Ostend and Nieuwpoort. But the local authorities also wanted a new venue building on the Épernay square, to accommodate a casino, a multifunctional hall, a restaurant, a hotel and an underground parking garage.
