Albert Cuyp garage winner Dutch Concrete Award 2019
In 2019, the Albert Cuyp Garage in Amsterdam, designed by ZJA, received the Dutch Concrete Award in the category for 'Civil Construction'. Entirely concealed under an existing canal, the Albert Cuyp parking garage blends into the urban landscape and reveals almost nothing at street level. Besides literally making space for parking belowground, its efficient use of limited public space also creates space for relaxation, planting and playing children aboveground.
